Ahmed Reza: Better humans. Better machines.

I build AI for small businesses, so the machines handle the busywork and people get more time to be people.

The short version

I’m the founder and CEO of YiB Inc., the home of Yobi. We build AI for small businesses, the owners who keep the lights on and rarely get technology built for them. I also lead New Patients Inc, a dental marketing firm, and Call Sumo, which traces every call back to what paid for it.

The idea behind all of it is simple. AI should work for people, not replace them. Let the machines be better machines, and let us be better humans. I graduated from Cornell with a computer science degree, worked as an engineer at NASA, and I’ve been writing code for about 25 years. These days my own work runs through a team of AI agents. I write about what that’s actually like, the parts that work and the parts that don’t.

Outside work, I co-founded TrepHub, a startup community on Florida’s Space Coast that started with a few coders and founders at a café. I run AI as a Force for Good, for people who want this technology to make life more humane. I was lucky to be a Milken Scholar, and I try to pass on what that community gave me. I’m a father of four, a practicing Muslim, and I read a lot of books.

Beyond work

What I care about

A few places I give my time outside of work.

  • TrepHub

The Space Coast startup community I co-founded with Brandon Schmitt. It began with a few coders, hackers and founders meeting at a café in Melbourne, Florida, and it is still close to my heart.

  • AI as a Force for Good

A group I run for people who want AI to make life more humane, not less.

  • Milken Scholars

I was lucky to be a Milken Scholar. What stayed with me is the community: people who keep helping the next ones along. I try to pass that on.
